It is a mini-book that describes specific tasks and solutions to build RCP applications using Eclipse 4.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.packtpub.com\/eclipse-4-rcp-development-how-to\/book\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.packtpub.com\/sites\/default\/files\/9529OS_cov.jpg?resize=350%2C432\" width=\"350\" height=\"432\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Eclipse 4 has introduced new frameworks, APIs and tools to develop Rich Client Platform (RCP) Applications. \u00a0In this book I have taken a sample application and explained how to implement it from start to finish using Eclipse 4 SDK. The book is\u00a0divided\u00a0into a number of \u00a0focused tasks. Each task builds the sample application incrementally\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the list of tasks covered in the book &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Setting up a development environment\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Creating a skeleton E4 application<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Adding menu and toolbar items\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Adding views<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Injecting your own objects using DI<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Creating a pop-up menu\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Creating custom events and handlers\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Adding a keyboard shortcut\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Creating custom objects using DI\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Creating views dynamically\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Styling an application using CSS\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Customizing and exporting the application<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I was contacted to write this book towards the end of last year. Initially it got delayed a bit because I was busy with other things.
